Our online market is coming!

We have slowly been working on updating a new online market platform - grumpygoat.locallygrown.net. And it’s almost ready for action. I hope to have it open for business next week. For the remainder of the winter and spring orders can be placed between Tuesday evening and Sunday evening. And orders can be picked up Tuesdays from 4pm-6pm at the farm. In May there will be some more variety in pick up times and locations. We will be able to list all our soap, lip balm, fiber, produce, bread, jams and jellies, bird houses, honey, maple syrup and more! Anyone from farther away, we can ship, however, shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer. Thanks for everyone who supports small scale and local producers!

Let breeding commence!

The goats have been moved into their breeding group. Jet, the buck, is now in a pasture with Screech, Poke, Marcy, and Snowy. To say that Jet was excited about his new predicament would definitely be an understatement!

Screech had a beautiful caramel doeling this past year and was a fantastic mom. For the other three does, this is their first breeding.

Other Spring Happenings

The maple sap is flowing, albeit a little sporadically. We finished bottling about 7.5 gallons last week and are now cooking our next batch. Matt is sludging through the mud, as we speak, to empty the buckets!

The sheep also had their yearly haircuts yesterday, thanks again to Wyatt. They look great though are stuck in the barn for another day to keep them from getting chilled.

And Griswold was a perfect gentleman when meeting the new goat kids. He even sat next to me, leash-less, while we tried to take their pre registration pictures.

Pygora Kids are here!!!

The farm is full of adorable bouncy goat kids right now. Houdini surprised us by having quadruplets - all healthy and thriving. Screech and Jeena each had singles. Unfortunately Jeena’s didn’t make it so she is now raising one of the quadruplets. Chip had twins. So in total we have 3 doelings and 4 bucklings keeping the adults busy right now. All of them are for sale so please contact us to be added to the waitlist of check back on the For Sale page to see who is still available (as soon as people on the waitlist have a chance to select the goats we will be updating the page).

Spring is Here!

Happy Chickens

The chickens are enjoying their new mobile coop.  Stop by the farm if you need any eggs.  The chickens are laying like crazy.
